This Road

words and music by Udo Klopke

This road, street that I ́m walking on,
leads me up and down
This road, maybe better than another one,
but I ́ll never know, I ́ll never know

Footprints, that ́ve left where I ́m coming from
Friends lost and found
Inside, a feeling of emptiness, so hard to ignore
So, I ́m walking on

I rised up, when there where summits to climb on, and no trail to follow
Now all leaves have turned from green into yellow
And I ́m turning my head and I find that there ́s noone around

And as I walk, the picture is getting clearer now
While all the blue sky turns grey
I ́m thinking ́bout, that they latest way that crossed
Is many miles away, many miles away

This road will lead me nowhere to, from this dream there ́s no wake up
This road, will never shape up to a boulevard, but I ́m walking on
I ́m just walking on

I rised up, when there where summits to climb on, and no trail to follow
Now all leaves have turned from green into yellow
And I ́m turning my head and I find that there ́s noone around
And I ́m turning my head and I find that there ́s noone around

But the doctor couldn ́t heal me, I got to make it all alone
And If only I could feel me, I would turn this ship around

There are people I remember, but I didn ́t really care
Now I ́m feeling like December, like there ́s winter in the air

And the wind is getting colder, and I ́m feeling kind of weak,
And i feel I ́m getting older and older and older
